Job Description

The Raytheon UK Training Transformation team has a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and confident Programme manager to join one of main training programmes.

This team works as part of a partnership with other companies to provide support for the training equipment for the Royal Navy and is part of a wider programme that also support Training design and transformation for royal navy training courses.

The programme manager will be working in the Training Equipment team with the Training Equipment Lead to manage the programme elements of the service. They will be responsible for setting up and overseeing the delivery of any new project work within the Training Equipment portfolio, this could include service improvement, supporting commercial discussion, projects to tackle operational escalations, support new ways of working. It is important that this person has experience of managing complex programme of works and strong stakeholder management skills as this will be a customer facing role.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for programme delivery in Training Equipment
  • Responsible for managing the programme finances and governance
  • Responsible for escalations and customer interface
  • Working with customers and suppliers in joint management boards
  • Implement PMX best practice and manage by example to instil flawless programme execution behaviours and processes.
  • Sustain collaborative relationships with peers within the Customer, strategic Partners, Suppliers and across Raytheon consistent with the programme, programme element or pursuit shared vision.

Essential:

  • Experience of managing complex programme and customers
  • Relevant, recent demonstrable experience of successful programme execution in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment
  • Demonstrate and advocate Raytheon leadership behaviours
  • A self-starting and capable manager, able to effect change through the matrix organisation, even where direct hierarchical control does not exist
  • Supportive, with the character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome delivery challenges
  • Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding
  • Drive to create change and continuously improve performance
  • Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on Jira
  • Experience of working in MOD and/or training
  • Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience
  • Interested in continuous professional development of self and others
