MISSION:
To provide the leadership necessary to promote teamwork and continuous improvement. To assist with budget items, shipments, process control issues, and cross training.
Employee will be primarily responsible for Milestone 8 but may flex into other areas as needed.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Teamwork
- Prioritize work and shift setup in accordance with thru-put requirements.
- Participates in staffing projections.
- Facilitates scheduling of team overtime and PTO in accordance with policy.
- Effectively manages first line performance issues. Communicates with and coaches employees in a respectful manner regarding time management and workmanship issues.
- Champions Safety and Quality initiatives and leads by example.
- Notifies supervision when further action is required to improve performance.
- Gives objective, fact-based input for continuous improvement/Project Win/ performance reviews and measurements.
- Trains employees on new skills and works with employees to improve performance to satisfactory levels or maintain satisfactory performance. When appropriate will assign someone to provide training.
- Coordinates resources to move from one team to help another when necessary to meet daily thru-put and support other departments.
- Proactively supports a respectful work environment that embraces diversity and is free of discrimination or harassment.
- Provide leadership in a consistent and fair manner which avoids favoritism or the perception of favoritism.
- May be required to handle hazardous waste.
- May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.
Process Control
- Notifies appropriate party/parties when a process is out of control.
- B Facilitates technique card and router changes.
- Participates in root cause analysis for out of control conditions
Measurements
- Will set and display daily team production goals in accordance with TOC
- May participate in presentation of team production status in daily thru-put “line walks”.
- Updates daily status on inventory position.
Planning
- A Coordinates long and short-term capacity requirements and thru-put commitments with planning/supervisors.
- Assists with strategies to forecast and attain team measurements.
Other
- Interfaces with customers, engineering, and other departments to give process walks and presentations.
- Contacts appropriate resources if any employee may not be fit for duty or not adhering to job requirements. Addresses and escalate issues promptly.
- Assures compliance with safe work habits and maintenance of proper housekeeping and 6S procedures
- Assures compliance with company policies and procedures and promptly notifies supervision of deviations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to handle hazardous waste.
- May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management training.
- May be assigned to multiple work centers or departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Salvage Analyst certification or ability to certify within 30 days required.
- In addition, must hold or be capable of certifying in 45 days in either “A” or “B” or “C”. Must be capable of certifying in two out of three “A”, “B”, and “C” within 12 months.

- HT Certification
NOTE: An X-Ray Level II certification is an acceptable substitute for requirement “A” or “B” if assigned to the X-Ray Area.
- May be required to have additional certifications depending on assigned work center or departments
- Incumbent must be willing, as required by team and production needs to:
- Adjust shift
- Perform various jobs required to process parts
- Interface with other teams and support areas.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Instructions must be clear and unambiguous; consistently assures directions are clearly understood resulting in work that rarely, if ever, needs to be redone due to the quality of communication.
- Ability to make “shop floor” presentations to customers, engineering, and other departments as required or requested.
- Must have valid Oregon driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes. Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and climb to perform daily job functions. Ability to exert up to seventy-five pounds of force to move objects (lift up to 35lbs).
