Reports to: Head of Technical Services

This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.

In this role, you will be responsible for engineering activities related to the airworthiness, safety, reliability, operational disruptions, and commercial cost-effectiveness of all aircraft types operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and its customer airlines. You will lead and align cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes that support the achievement of our engineering vision and goals, while breaking down silos and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

• take ownership for technical drivers of fleet performance across all ATAs – owning issues, coordinating solutions, and ensuring outcomes that support Engineering’s key operational goals such as on time performance, operational reliability, aircraft availability and defect levels
• leading root cause investigations of technical issues and driving the implementation of corrective actions across the Engineering organisation
• acting as the central point of contact for all technical matters related to the A320 and A330 fleets
• collaborating with the rest of the Engineering Department, across the airline, and externally with OEMs and suppliers to set priorities and technical direction and to deliver integrated solutions
• understanding fleet cost drivers together with maintenance programme effectiveness through the Reliability Centred Maintenance philosophy and driving initiatives to achieve best value outcomes for the airline
• ensuring delivery of the Fleet Technical Management service from Cathay Engineering to Air Hong Kong for A330F aircraft
• chairing fleet performance reviews and reporting regularly to senior leadership on fleet health, risks and strategic initiatives
• benchspaning against industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and championing cross-departmental initiatives to eliminate silos and improve communication and accountability
• focusing on integration of AI, digital technologies and industry intelligence to boost efficiency
• providing leadership and mentoring to a team of engineers across the Technical Services department
  
  

• Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience of managing and delivering high performance through a team and cross functional collaboration
• Experience of leading and delivering business improvement through a hands-on approach
• Experience of driving Manufacturers, OEMs and suppliers to deliver the required business outcomes
• Ability to build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to lead and inspire the team and set stretched goals and targets Commercial and Financial acumen
