Job Description

The Cycle Counter maintains accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations in a large, fast-paced warehouse environment. This role works closely with warehouse, receiving, and shipping teams to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and support overall inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. The position is based in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa, CA area on a day shift schedule with substantial overtime opportunities and will primarily focus on performing cycle counts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Reconcile physical inventory counts with inventory records in the ERP system.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including transaction errors and process issues.
  • Document all count results, adjustments, and findings accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate inventory variances, trends, and recurring issues to Inventory Control and Warehouse leadership.
  • Assist with year-end or full physical inventory counts as needed.
  • Verify product locations, quantities, lot numbers, and serial numbers, as applicable, to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and warehouse processes.
  • Coordinate with material handling, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure inventory movements are properly recorded.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to access and move inventory for counting.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures while performing inventory and material handling activities.
  • Contribute to the success of assembly and production projects by ensuring timely and accurate inventory availability.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience performing cycle counts in a warehouse or inventory control environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices, including cycle counting, shipping, receiving, and material handling.
  • Ability to reconcile physical inventory counts with system records and identify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency using an ERP system for inventory transactions and inquiries.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack safely in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to accurately verify product locations, quantities, lot numbers, and serial numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to report variances and trends to inventory and warehouse leadership.
  • Ability to follow established schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Capability to work extended hours and overtime as needed to support operational demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems for inventory management.
  • Experience in supporting assembly or production projects through accurate inventory control.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and inventory processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, receiving, and shipping teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, organized warehouse environment within a large and growing company in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa, CA area. Operations run on a day shift schedule, typically around 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with frequent overtime opportunities. You will work around material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks and use an ERP system, including tools like NetSuite, to manage inventory data. The facility is expanding and has recently received funding to build a new site, reflecting a stable and growth-focused work setting. Standard warehouse-appropriate attire and adherence to all safety and quality procedures are expected while on the floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
