What You Will Do

Capability Development

• Provide OJT coaching, mentoring, and competency validation to build consistent skills in new and transferred DLs during brownfield transition.

• Share machining and troubleshooting best practices to accelerate capability build-up, while supporting training syllabi, OJT blueprints, and certification records.

• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering (ME/QE) to refine processes, validate tooling/fixtures, and improve work instructions through operator feedback.

• Foster a culture of continuous learning, safety-first practices, and cross-skill development in alignment with CORE principles.

Machining Operations

• Set up, operate, and maintain specialized CNC/NC machines including PUMA TT2500MS Lathe, Makino PS105 Milling, Reishauer gear flank grinding, Studer ID/OD grinding, Doosan 2600 mill-turn, Kapp VX59/VIG and Gleason hobbing and shaping machines.

• Perform precision machining to tight aerospace tolerances, ensuring strict compliance with drawings, blueprints, GD&T standards, and customer requirements.

• Support brownfield ramp-up by executing machining operations for transferred parts, ensuring production readiness and process stability.

• Apply safe work practices and CORE principles during setup and operation to drive efficiency, repeatability, and compliance.

Quality & Inspection

• Set up, calibrate, and operate precision measuring equipment such as Taylor Hobson and Wenzel CMMs, gauges, and fixtures to achieve first-pass quality.

• Accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications for effective machining and inspection.

• Complete and maintain shop travelers, inspection records, and production documentation in compliance with Collins standards and regulatory requirements.

• Support process control and quality improvement by identifying nonconformance issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and collaborating with ME/QE on corrective actions.

Brownfield-Specific Requirements

• Execute machining and work transfer for 94 parts into brownfield, ensuring alignment with sending site standards and customer requirements.

• Support machine setup, tooling/fixture validation, and first-level troubleshooting to establish stable production capability.

• Provide operator-level feedback to ME/QE on process documentation, setup sheets, and inspection methods tailored for brownfield operations.

• Demonstrate flexibility across machine types to support high-mix operations and balance workloads between Bedok, Changi, and Seletar.

• Mentor DLs through OJT and competency validation, preparing the workforce for the future 1300-part greenfield transition.

Qualifications You Must Have

• NITEC /Higher NITEC in Precision Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years working experience in a Precision Engineering environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Basic command of written and spoken English.

• Able to work weekly rotating shifts.
