What You Will Do:
- Provides technical interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Analyze and resolve design tolerance problems.
- Provides information to evaluate, select and order capital test equipment and complete cost/payback analysis.
- Provides information to evaluate Customer Returned Good (CRG) activity to identify potential failure trends.
- Supports capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs.
- Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields for routine issues of various levels of scope.
- Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failures.
- Develop, implement and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top level product for established stable product lines.
- Determines proper test flows and sequencing for the efficient flow of products through Mfg test.
- Assures that proper technical assistance and training is provided to floor test technicians.
- Maintains all test documentation in current configuration.
- Analyzes manufacturing test processes for cost reduction opportunities.
- Develops working knowledge of test systems and hardware.
- Provides technical assistance and support to sub-assembly and top-level testing.
- May provide Material Review Board analysis and disposition of Rockwell Collins and/or supplier products.
- Understands how Engineering support costs affect Manufacturing.
- Understands how test equipment performance and reliability affect Manufacturing.
- Utilize and apply engineering and manufacturing principles and processes.
- Manage moderately sized projects or processes
- Independently resolve problems that are difficult and often complex
- Develop tactical plans to manage day-to-day challenges
- Some travel to local Iowa reginal sites
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Prior experience supporting various high-frequency communication radios & circuit board manufacturing processes.
- Experience with engineering tools used in the build & test of HF and Tacair radios. (SAP, Engineering drawings, change control board, Solidworks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, etc.)

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
