Purpose of Position
The Trade Compliance Lead performs global trade compliance (import and export) related activities for the company to remain in compliance with government and corporate import/export requirements, while facilitating the needs of the business. The Trade Compliance Lead must be analytical and detail oriented, and knowledgeable of the regulations related to 15 CFR, 19 CFR, and associated government agencies, policies, and laws affecting international trade, principally those relating to classification, jurisdiction assignment, customs, and import/export practices, among others.This role will collaborate with internal partners to ensure the global success of the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities
•The primary function of this position is to conduct appropriate research to determine, substantiate, and classify items for import and export by assigning tariff numbers using the HTS and Schedule B; and assigning jurisdiction, using the EAR.
•Ensures accurate Country of Origin analysis declarations and assesses applicability to Free Trade Agreements to mitigate duty risk as needed.
•Partners with leadership to set trade priority initiatives for the business.
•Supports training and guidance initiatives to internal partners on trade regulations, policies, and best practices as needed.
•Supports in the development of trade related policies and processes as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
•Skills navigating in a work environment principally based on technology are required.
•Proven working knowledge of the HTSUS, Schedule B, EAR, and other international trade controls.
•Proven working knowledge of U.S. Free Trade Agreements such as USMCA and the practical application of analyzing country of origin.
•Licensed Customs Broker, a plus.
•Experience working with a global trade management software platform, preferred.
•Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate complex trade matters clearly and concisely.
•Strong working knowledge of Customs regulations and logistics.
•Knowledge of global Customs security programs such as, but not limited to; C-TPAT, Mutual Recognition Arrangements ("MRA), AEO, or others.
•Demonstrated experience navigating export/import laws and regulations of U.S.
•Strong understanding of INCOTERMS 2020.
