Senior Manager, Maintenance Planning

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Maintenance Planning is responsible for leading the strategic direction and daily operations of the Maintenance Planning team. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, effective scheduling of maintenance tasks, and coordination across key departments. Additionally, the Senior Manager champions continuous improvement, team development, and a strong safety culture while optimizing maintenance efficiency and cross functional collaboration. This position supports a 24/7 operation, with expectations for regular off-hours, weekend, and holiday availability.

 

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Maintenance Planning team, including direct oversight of planning, scheduling, and program execution.
  • Ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are planned and completed within FAA-approved intervals across all line maintenance stations.
  • Oversee daily review and adjustment of near-term maintenance forecasts (up to 120 days) to ensure alignment with operational needs.
  • Coordinate closely between Planning, Materials, Maintenance, and Maintenance Control teams to ensure availability of manpower, parts, and tooling.
  • Ownership of the development and delivery of the Heavy Maintenance Visit (HMV) schedule; partner with Maintenance Operations leadership to select and manage heavy MRO partners.
  • Drive cost-effectiveness and efficiency through optimization of routine maintenance plans, task packaging, and maintenance visit execution.
  • Assist with development and implementing bridging strategies as needed to align maintenance program changes across the fleet.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, team development, and regulatory excellence.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Maintenance Management, or Operations, Engineering, or Technical related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or Programs. 
  • Understanding and working knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR 121 and AC 120-16G.  
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Manufacturer Service Bulletins (SB).            
  • Strong understanding of Maintenance Planning systems and background in analytical maintenance principles.       
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.     
  • Strong leadership skills to develop and retain diverse Team of MX Planners.    
  • Experience in an Aviation (Airline Preferred) role managing Maintenance Planning or Maintenance Programs
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred.
  • Project Management Certifications preferred. 
  • Regulatory Agency Interface experience preferred. 
  • Change Management process assessment and implementation preferred. 
  • Systems Integration Experience preferred. 
  • Domestic or International travel under 25 of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Onsite in Dania beach, Florida.
