What you can expect as an Operations Support Manager at West Star:

The Operations Support Manager leads the planning team for the assigned location and plays a key role in ensuring maintenance events are properly scheduled, coordinated, and executed before aircraft arrival. This position serves as the primary liaison between customers, operations, and support teams to ensure efficient project planning, effective communication, and a high level of customer satisfaction, while also allowing the role to be performed remotely.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS, including:

  • Oversee and coordinate all maintenance planning activities prior to aircraft arrival.
  • Oversee production control pre-planning activities, including developing initial turnovers and identifying tooling, material, and parts requirements prior to aircraft arrival.
  • Develop and maintain milestone trackers to support schedule visibility, project accountability, and efficient operational execution.
  • Coordinate with Operations to manage and adjust input schedules based on projected workload, manpower availability, aircraft flow, operational priorities, and customer commitments.
  • Lead weekly customer planning meetings to review maintenance schedules, work scope updates, project status, milestone progress, and customer expectations.
  • Partner directly with the Operations Manager to align planning activities, operational priorities, manpower utilization, and maintenance execution strategies.
  • Review work orders and maintenance packages to evaluate projected downtime, maintenance flow, labor allocation, schedule impact, and overall execution requirements prior to aircraft induction.
  • Conduct pre-arrival meetings with Project Managers, Team Leads, and discipline leads to review work scope, schedules, milestone dates, and project expectations to ensure alignment and execution readiness.
  • Coordinate planning support and backfill coverage across all Base Maintenance locations to ensure balanced workloads, consistent support, and effective task coordination through weekly cross-site meetings.
  • Managing the site aircraft induction schedule in coordination with operations leadership.
  • Acting as the primary planning liaison between customers and the operations team.
  • Attending customer meetings to review and verify planned work scopes.
  • Ensuring accurate and complete customer work packages are created by the planning team.
  • Coordinating with purchasing and parts teams to ensure materials and parts are available prior to aircraft arrival.
  • Reviewing site capacity and workload with site leadership to support operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating outside vendors, repairs, and support services as needed.
  • Assisting with the development and improvement of planning processes and operational procedures.
  • Leading the planning team to deliver high-quality customer service and results.
  • Supporting a culture built on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and flexibility.
  • Performing other duties, assignments, or special projects as needed.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Aviation-related education or training is preferred.
A&P license is preferred but not required.

Your Experience
At least 5 years of related aviation, maintenance planning, operations, or leadership experience preferred.
Experience working within a fast-paced aviation or maintenance environment preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products required.
Corridor experience is preferred.
Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work flexible schedules as business needs require.

Compensation & Benefit Information

The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $85,000 - $100,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
