Pratt & Whitney’s Line Maintenance Services in Dallas, Texas is looking for an experienced

Operations Leader to provide oversight of the Operations Team which includes Shift Supervisors, Technicians and Materials/Logistics personnel.  The Operations Team ensures the optimal flow of aircraft engines through the repair shop via effective coordination with the Engineering, Customer Support and Quality Teams.  The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of all direct reports.

  • Ensures continued compliance to Regulatory agency requirements as well as Pratt & Whitney policy/procedure.

  • Liaison across multiple departments/functions (to include both internal and external teams as well as customers) to ensure seamless service and work scope execution.  Has overall responsibility for Operations related Key Performance Indicators including Turnaround time and On Time Delivery.

  • Ensures effective resource planning that drives a fully utilized workforce which involves demand forecasting and trend analysis.

  • Manages training plans, work scope level qualifications and authorizations of all technicians.

  • Manages performance of the Operations Team – ongoing coaching/mentoring to achieve exceptional team performance.

  • Resolves production problems, recommends operational changes, assesses risks and surges manpower to meet demands.

  • Ensure continuous business improvement by executing processes such as LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping etc.

  • Assists in addressing customer inquiries as it pertains to work scope determination and expedited return of Customer’s engine(s). 

  • Collaborates with cross functional and global teams to assure Pratt & Whitney engines meet or exceed Customer expectations.  Participate in problem-solving process to generate on-wing/near wing technical solutions to engine removal drivers.

  • Comply with financial guidelines for all support related procurement activities.

  • Monitor and communicate production status of engines flowing through the shop.  Drive business issues and/or any other significant barriers to meeting on time delivery commitments to a timely closure. 

  • The position is based in Dallas, Texas and reports directly to the General Manager at LMS.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 14 years of experience to include experience in commercial aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, or Overhaul, prior experience leading teams of technically skilled employees OR

  • A Bachelors Degree and 10 years experience to include experience in commercial aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, or Overhaul, prior experience leading teams of technically skilled employees

  • FAA Part 65 License, specifically an Airframe & Powerplant License

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and motivate teams to achieve business goals

  • Supervisory experience in a cross-functional environment including operations, engineering and support functions

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines, particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment

  • Experience working with a global team

  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station Quality requirements

  • Organizational and project management skills

  • Continuous Improvement experience such as LEAN, Six-Sigma

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
