Position Summary
Position Summary:
The Division Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and enhancing the division’s accounting operations, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for the management and analysis of cost accounting, general ledger functions, and the implementation of effective accounting systems and procedures. The ideal candidate will lead a team to ensure precise inventory costing, develop and monitor departmental budgets, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Collaborating closely with the division controller, this role aims to uphold the highest standards of financial management while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate costing and analysis of inventory to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze monthly LIFO index reports and set annual standard costs.
- Lead talent development and growth for direct reports
- Develop and manage departmental budgets in alignment with corporate financial goals.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Oversee property systems records and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies.
- Provide detailed account reconciliations and business analysis to support management decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and analyses for both division and corporate stakeholders.
- Ensure all accounting systems align with corporate guidelines and best practices.
- Promote a culture of high-quality customer service, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within the accounting team.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
