Responsible for connecting the dots between the company and our people, this multifaceted individual should be passionate about using the power of communications to drive culture, community and results. This role will report directly to the Director of People Experience (PX) & Communications.
How you will help us deliver experiences that matter:
In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the development and execution of company-wide internal communications strategies that elevate Delta Vacations’ culture and bolster employee engagement and sense of belonging. We are looking to you to champion initiatives across the entire employee lifecycle – from onboarding to Delta Vacations alumni relations reinforcing the company’s values and mission of Experience Matters while positioning Delta Vacations as a “Best Places to Work”.

WHAT ELSE WILL YOU BE DOING (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Develop, deliver and own outstanding end-to-end internal communications strategy that aligns with Delta Vacations’ business goals, strengthens culture and improves every step of the employee journey.
  • Lead the overall onboarding and offboarding programs, elevating the people experience from start to finish.
  • Evaluate Delta Vacations’ current people experience and touchpoints and guide the PX & Communications and HR teams in documenting, transforming, optimizing and measuring them.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to lead the design and facilitation of impactful employee and leadership forums that foster transparency, enhance connection and cultivate a strong sense of belonging.
  • Collaborate with leaders to communicate consistent internal messages that motivate and engage Delta Vacations employees from various backgrounds.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver Delta Vacations internal communications strategy and end-to-end people journey touchpoints.
  • Serve as Delta Vacations’ liaison with Delta Global Communications to support the development of new internal strategies and plans, ensure alignment, consistency of messaging and timeliness of communications across internal channels.
  • Sharpen and manage Delta Vacations’ intranet and internal email strategy program to ensure employees have the vital information, resources and tools at their fingertips.
  • Develop, manage and coordinate appropriate budgets and forecasting.
  • Follow all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations. Ensure corresponding compliance of staff members.

Position type/standard schedule
Full-Time Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required as job duties demand.

Domestic and international travel to fulfill assigned responsibilities
Salary
$71,308 – $126,844 annually

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Candidates for this position may have a Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven years of corporate communications/internal communications, spaneting and executive writing experience required.
  • Four years of experience leading people required.
  • Experience managing content via the SharePoint platforms and working within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud email platforms required.
  • Proficient communications skills, English language grammar, writing, verbal and presentation skills required with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Requires strong analytical, negotiation, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully lead multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and solve problems in a timely and accurate manner. Make strategic recommendations and improvements.
  • Executive presence and shown ability to instill confidence and earn credibility with internal clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Self-sufficient multi-tasker, proficient in original approaches and innovative ideas.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience working with external communications agencies.
  • Two years of experience developing and implementing employee or customer lifecycle and journey mapping strongly preferred.
  • Two years of layout design skills using InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator preferred.
  • Travel and/or tourism industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Delta Vacations programs.
  • Experience working with People Analytics to identify and support the development of critical metrics needed to understand engagement, experience, and culture.
