Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Aviation Operations, the Assistant Director of Aviation Operations contributes to the company’s Operational Control through scheduling, business unit operations managers, and area operations managers. Manage, direct, and implement operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of PHI Health goals. Follows PHI Health policies and procedures, and FAA regulations.
Responsibilities Include:
Coordination operational initiatives via the following:
Assurance that all aviation operations are compliant with appropriate FAA regulations.
Management of the operations function concurrent with business growth and meeting financial objectives.
Working with customers to accomplish their airplane/helicopter transportation requirements to the best of our ability with flight safety as priority.
Supervision of flight following
Set-up of new operations and coordination with other departments to provide fuel, aircraft, pilots, flight following, OCC policy & procedures, and maintenance to provide a safe operation.
Compliance with the Preflight Risk Assessment Worksheet by pilots and the Operational Control process.
Stand in for Director, when the Director is not available, as a member HSEQ meetings and panels (e.g., accident and incident board meetings, operational leadership meetings, safety management review team, and others).
Monitoring of aircraft’s satellite communications and troubleshooting issues.
Responsible for Transportation Security Administration twelve-five security program requirements and compliance.
Promote PHI’s Destination Zero initiative within Air Medical
Accountable for ensuring corporate Safety Management System activities are being applied by all personnel within Air Medical.
Schedule/Location:
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate ratings or Commercial Instrument to obtain ATP within 6 months.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 6 years experience in a similar capacity.
3 years of Operational Control experience in aviation operations; Air Ambulance highly preferred.
Have at least 3 years of experience within the past 6 years as pilot in command under Part 121 or Part 135.
Demonstrated knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 91, 119, 135, and company manuals.
Demonstrable executive bearing, maturity, professionalism and gravitas.
Strong business acumen, excellent collaboration and negotiation skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to listen, express and implement concepts and ideas, both orally and in writing.
Recognizes the need for proactive change; adapts to and motivates others to adopt values, strategies, goals and plans in response to changing business conditions.
This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act
