Position Summary
Responsible for the electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and factory startup of automated filtration equipment skids. Supports customer Factory Acceptance Testing of the skids. Performs facility electrical upgrade and maintenance activities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Integrate pre-built control panels into equipment skids with multiple electrical enclosures, following electrical schematics, component wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Wire low voltage circuits (4-20mA analog signals, 5-32V DC power/signals, modbus serial and ethernet communications) and higher voltage circuits (100-260V AC single & 3-phase – power cords and servo motors)
- Install and wire door-mounted and side-mounted components (pilot devices, displays, cable entries/seals, etc.) on stainless steel frames/enclosures. Mount additional components onto panels (drill and tap) as needed.
- Work with the assembly team to assist with the installation of mechanical components of skid as needed.
- Perform quality check, perform hipot test, start-up equipment, and troubleshoot (as necessary)
- Follow work instructions to initialize the PLC, HMI, servo drives, and other components
- Perform electrical schematic walkdown with customer during Factory Acceptance Testing, and redline the schematic as needed
- Assist with final troubleshooting and completing any electrical changes or rework, as part of Factory Acceptance Test.
- Perform quality checks of UL 508A control panels from outside vendor
- Perform all work in accordance with applicable quality industry standards (e.g. NEC, UL 508, etc.) and established safety procedures (e.g. NFPA 70E, Lock-Out-Tag-Out, etc.)
- Occasionally, troubleshoot and/or repair/upgrade manufacturing equipment, as needed
- Occasionally, add new electrical drops and run network cables for facilities, as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ prior experience in wiring PLC-automated equipment skids. Reading, following, and revising rung-style electrical schematics is required.
- College or Technical Degree Preferred
- Knowledge of electrical theory and components (In particular: PLCs, various types of relays, DC power supplies/converters/UPS, signal converters, transducers/transmitters, control valves, solenoid valves, servo drives and motors, etc.)
- Knowledge of UL 508A, NEC, NFPA 70E standards is required; UL 508 training/certification preferred.
- Able to use Windows PC to install/setup PLC and HMI software (following provided work instructions)
- Must be able to use electrical hand tools (cutting, crimping, stripping, etc.) and related power tools(drilling).
- Able to solder multi-conductor cables to DB9 connectors (serial communications)

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as spanet and business considerations. Pay Range: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour.
