Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Systems (SEIT Lead). We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Engineer Systems (SEIT Lead) based out of Orlando, FL. As a Staff Engineer Systems (SEIT Lead) at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio. CHORD is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The CHORD portfolio comprises multiple contract awards and with various customers. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Staff Engineer Systems (SEIT Lead) will be responsible for managing the technical execution of the program across all disciplines.
- They will establish and maintain the technical roadmap, direct the technical teams across all disciplines including software, cyber, systems, infrastructure, test and gate ware.
- The SEIT Lead will maintain awareness of status across all disciplines, break down barriers, establish and monitor engineering processes, and communicate status and challenges with program leadership.
- The successful candidate shall have experience driving all technical disciplines to complete the mission, be proactive, forward-looking, and able to communicate effectively with both engineering and program management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 12 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree in a STEM field and 10 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field and 8 years of related technical experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams on DoD Programs
- Demonstrated experience managing a technical roadmap
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with the customer
- Ability to multi-task and balance in order to move multiple tasks forward at once
- Experience documenting processes and procedures
- Hands on experience developing and performing real-time executable mission plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating directly with customers and end users for requirements development and detailed design
- Experience overseeing development of a large and complex software system for a US DoD Customer
- Experience overseeing development and integratation of a software system within a "system of systems" environment
- Experience in supporting Government run fully integrated testing of a software system within a "systems of systems" environment prior to fielding
- Experience fielding a software system on site at government facilities within a "systems of systems" environment
- Experience maintaining a system level roadmap for the entire development lifecycle of a large complex software system that operates within a "system of systems" environment
- Experience leading and coordinating efforts across systems engineering, software engineering, cyber engineering, logistics and fielding, and integration and test throughout the entire development lifecycle for a large and complex software system
- Experience working on Agile programs and methodology
- Working knowledge of Linux, network security, application security, security assessments/testing, industry, and DoD security best practices
- Proactive in engaging all engineering discplines to maintain program awareness
- Ability to be forward looking to identify potential issues earlier
Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
