Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Software Development Engineers in Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and demonstrate new software features and components of front-end and back-end to users to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of related technical approaches, tools, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with the technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the software code that is developed meets their vision.
  • Design software solutions to meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Align to Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements.
  • Own quality posture.
  • Write automated tests, ideally before writing code, and write code.
  • Develop delivery pipelines and automated deployment scripts.
  • Configure services, such as databases and monitoring.
  • Implement Service Reliability Engineering.
  • Fix software problems from the development phase through the production phase, which requires being on call for production support.
  • Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3 years of IT experience. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and 1 year of IT experience.

Must have work experience with:

  • Using AWS services including Lambda (serverless compute), CloudWatch (monitoring and observability), S3 (object storage), and DynamoDB (NoSQL database) to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions;
  • Providing end-to-end production support by resolving critical issues efficiently, optimizing system performance, and ensuring minimal downtime for business operations;
  • Java/j2EE framework design; and
  • AWS Connect product, designing and implementing RES IVR Contact Flows and AWS Lex bots.
