The Engineering Technician II is a member of a multi-functional team providing Technical Support Services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center Logistic Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The Engineering Technician IIs technical, operational, and functional tasks spectrum includes providing engineering technician services to the various FAALC Product Divisions to help assure that electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment meets serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements including assembling, repairing and refurbishing equipment, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; performing equipment performance analyses and data collection and reporting; and installing equipment and modifications in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.

Standard individual administrative tasks including individual time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.

• The Engineering Technician II performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress. This technician performs at this level, one or a combination of such typical duties as:
• • Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment.
  • Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
  • Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.
• May be required to drive vehicle if needed to perform duties.

• Two years of practical experience in an engineering technician support position performing the following:
• • Assisting in developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes, and in Troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Minimum High School diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses OR Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
• Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successful complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
• Travel up to 75 of the time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• A valid drivers license is required.
