Role Summary

AOG Engineer provides world class technical assistance in support of out of service and in-service aircraft issues while keeping safety and compliance as the top priorities.

Key Duties

In the Associate Level:

  • Provide technical assistance to Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Services for resolution of out of service or pending out of service issues with supervision.

  • Author Engineering Authorizations (EAs) to provide maintenance with repair and troubleshooting instructions.

  • Under the direction of the Manager Engineering, navigates through complex OEM drawing system and manuals and in turn communicate the information to Maintenance, Maintenance Control, and Technical Services.

  • Learn to answer technical questions and respond to technical concerns from Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Services, Fleet Engineering, and Senior Management.

  • Proactive in approach, looking for areas of concern, actively making recommendations for fast, safe, and compliant solutions.

In the Intermediate Level:

  • Provide technical assistance to Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Technical Services for resolution of out of service or pending out of service issues with limited supervision.

  • Provide oversight of technical and compliance support for maintenance.

  • Effective in working with all departments, having positioned oneself as the ‘go-to’ expert for area of responsibility.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Associate Level

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or two years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, technical training including an A&P license, and/or aviation management will be considered.

  • Limited understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Airworthiness Directives.

Intermediate Level

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aviation industry (e.g., airline, OEM, and/or MRO) supporting the operation, or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or 2+ years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, technical training including an A&P license, and/or aviation management will be considered.

  • Full understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Airworthiness Directives.

Required at all levels

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly and setting direction.

  • Ability to be caring and considerate of others.

  • Ability to work various shifts.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range

$77,150 --$139,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
