The Avionics Lead Technician is responsible for all functions assigned to provide airworthiness of the aircraft upon completion of maintenance at the facility. A Lead Avionics is required to be a certified A&P Technician.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Being available for consultation on matters relating to work being accomplished on his or her assigned aircraft
- Lead and perform troubleshooting, repair, and return-to-service action on the assigned aircraft
- Supervise team of 1-3 avionics mechanics or technicians
- Ensuring all required paperwork is satisfactorily completed, signed, and complies with all existing regulations and procedures
- Ensuring all equipment is properly used and adequate safeguards are in place to protect the customer’s aircraft and equipment
- Monitoring and reporting to supervisors on the work of personnel under his or her responsibility, including work performance, productivity, quality, and personnel safety
- Performing on-the-job training for personnel
- Performing all other duties as assigned
