We have an immediate need for a Technical Compliance Analyst. This role operates within the Engineering team and collaborates cross functionally to support departments including engineering, global trade, supply chain and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining the jurisdiction and classification of hardware and technical data being exported from, or imported into Canada. They will also provide technical expertise in reviewing and interpreting drawings and documents - both for creating and managing Bills of Materials (BoMs) in our ERP and for supporting requirements management.

What You Will Do:
- Conduct export jurisdiction and classification reviews and determinations of hardware and technical data under Canada’s Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA) and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) / Defence Production Act (DPA)
- Create and edit BoMs based on documentation and changes
- Review technical drawings and documentation
- Review and support supplier, customer and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) classifications for export and/or import
- Collaborate with other departments to support questions and issues related to BoMs and Standards
- Other job responsibilities as required
Education & Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other appropriate technical education or experience equivalent.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Training in Configuration Management Systems and/or Requirements Management an asset
- Competent computer skills – with advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as Infor LN
- Working experience in the aerospace / defense industry is asset.
- Full working knowledge of EIPA, CGP and DPA (ITAR and other regulations an asset)
- Experience in Jurisdiction and Classification Determination
- Experience with working with large amounts of data and performing analysis
- Able to work with tight deadlines, setbacks and changes in policies
- Self-starter; able to work autonomously with limited oversight as well as in teams
- Communicate and prioritize effectively
- Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge through study, experience, training, etc.
- Effective interpersonal, leadership and communications skills
- Analytical and reasoning; decision making with business acumen

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program.
