Quality Assurance Specialist I
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Department: Quality Assurance
Job Summary: This position exists to support the Quality Assurance department in implementing the QMS. The Quality Assurance Specialist I manages the document control process and the CAPA process. The Quality Assurance Specialist I also responds to customer quality surveys, coordinates the review and approval of customer-proposed quality agreements, and supports other projects as needed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the document control process by ensuring compliance to document control procedures and good documentation practice
• Manage the document deviation process
• Analyze document changes from a Quality Assurance perspective
• Screen proposed document changes to ensure conformance to standard format, good grammar, comprehensibility, etc
• Manage the CAPA system
• Respond to the basic elements of customer surveys about business information
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in an English, Business, or STEM field (preferred)
Experience:
• None required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to understand and communicate quality requirements
• Understanding of a CAPA management system Revision Date: 12/12/2023 OP-465-F
• Understanding of a QMS in compliance with AS9100 requirements
• Ability to oversee a change control process
• Advanced Microsoft Word skills (e.g. track changes, heading configuration, bookspans, cross-references, and editing restrictions)
• Form creation • Intermediate computer skills (i.e. network, intranet, internet navigation)
• Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to move around the plant as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Work Environment:
The work environment conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the basic functions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate, however, hearing protection may be required if employee enters high noise areas as a part of their normal job duties.
