As a National Development Specialist, you will be required to design, implement and facilitate development programmes/plans for UAE National employees across different businesses within Emirates Group, together with the National Development Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Work directly with line departments in formulating, planning, and executing development plans for UAE Nationals across the Group for diverse programmes. This entails negotiating with and influencing line managers to support the recommended development plan, assisting them in linking national development with career progression, and ensuring high morale is maintained through on-the-job training, coaching, counselling, and mentoring.
- Conduct and facilitate National Induction on a regular basis to ensure new employees are appropriately introduced to the Emirates Group environment. This includes providing a clear understanding of group policies, procedures, and the challenges faced in the aviation industry, while consistently reviewing and updating the programme structure and content as required by adopting best practices and techniques.
- Ensure an effective and professional relationship is maintained with line managers and nationals, while providing guidance and support to defuse conflicts by reinforcing collaboration with other HR colleagues and ancillary support departments. You will also identify and establish relationships with training providers and academic centres to supplement training needs and strategies that are not met in-house.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all UAE Nationals at specified milestones in their training programme or plan to assess their development needs and take appropriate action accordingly. This involves gauging their competency levels and technical knowledge through diverse approaches—such as development centres, psychometric testing, and workshops—to source suitable training programmes internally, externally, or on the job, while also monitoring their effectiveness.
- Conduct quality review meetings with nationals and their respective line managers to monitor progress and assess the impact of training and development on performance. This will involve supporting and coaching both parties to achieve the desired development outcomes.
- Guide line managers and employees throughout the training and development period on various issues related to UAE Nationals by providing effective advice and counselling. This may include participating in disciplinary and grievance hearings, applying internal policies to ensure effective employee performance, and offering recommendations from the UAE National support perspective, in alignment with case precedents.
- Manage and execute projects to support specified development improvements, process automation, and quality control, and run awareness campaigns as needed.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of nationals development information throughout their training period and the nomination process for internal and external training courses, and generate reports related to national development on a regular basis.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:
You will have an advantage if you also have:
CIPD certification
Experience in a supervisory, training, or coaching role within a multicultural organisation
A strong understanding of coaching methods and structured graduate development programmes
