The Flight Test Vehicle Demand Planner reports to the Director Recurring and Refurbishing Programs and will liaise with internal departments in the areas of Manufacturing, Sales, Operations, Engineering, Technical Services, Finance and at times external consultants.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare the master schedules for all Flight Test Vehicles (FTVs) for all projects in PMO and Recurring and Refurbishment Program Departments in accordance with contract requirements, company and scheduling best practices using the Critical Path Method and demand plans.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within Product Development (i.e. System Engineering, Flight Sciences, etc.), Program Management, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Technical Services personnel to develop/define FTVs test schedules and strategies.
- Create flight test vehicles schedules and related documentation.
- Support PMO Obsolescence Team in optimizing FTVs utilization.
- Provide insights into FTVs configurations to ensure conformity is appropriate.
- Update FTVs schedule at regular intervals, monitor and analyze changes to the schedule and the critical path.
- Develop and issue short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Promptly Identify and communicate areas of risk and opportunity as it relates to the project schedule and participate in response planning.
- Understand contract obligations as they relate to the project schedule and project milestones.
- Define and communicate the drivers and interfaces with stakeholders that may affect such milestones in the schedule basis narrative.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of Planning Scheduling experience on aviation projects and flight testing.
- Experience working on at least one project from initiation to closeout.
- Direct exposure to the aerospace industry is required.
- Direct Experience with flight testing scheduling in aircraft manufacturing companies is a great asset.
- Equivalent to completion of a diploma training program (Civil, Meeh or Electrical) at a college or technical school.
- A degree in Engineering or Aerospace engineering is preferred.
- Certifications: PMP, PMI-SP. PSP, EIT P.Eng, CCDA and/or Certified Engineering Technologist are assets.
- Familiarity with DAS (Data Acquisition Systems) and FTI (Flight Test Instrumentation) is an asset
Skills
- Intermediate to Advanced user knowledge of MS Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Advanced knowledge in MS Teams and schedule design
- Advanced knowledge in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with ERP systems
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Intermediate knowledge of Power BI
Work Location & Conditions of Employment
- Candidate will be required to work onsite in Calgary, Alberta.
- Candidate may be required to travel at short notice.
- Schedule flexibility may be required.
